SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32

Congratulating Dr. Stacy Groscup on his induction into the World Archery Hall of Fame.

Whereas, Dr. Stacy Groscup of Morgantown, Monongalia County, is nationally known for his expertise with a bow and arrow. He holds a world record for hitting seven aspirin tablets in a row in mid air with his bow and arrow. He has been filmed for the television show "That's Incredible" and has made five films for various conservation-oriented groups. He has been featured in ads for Newsweek, Time and Reader's Digest; and
Whereas, Dr. Stacy Groscup is also dedicated to the effort of educating thousands of people throughout the United States on subjects of conservation, archeology, Native American lore and natural history; and
Whereas, Dr. Stacy Groscup has been an integral part of the West Virginia Youth Conversation Camp for the past twenty-nine years. He has been invited to speak at numerous conservation- oriented programs, including the Governor's Conservation seminar, the Professional Bowhunter's Society banquet, the West Virginia Wildlife Federation and the West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Day activities at French Creek Farm; and
Whereas, Dr. Stacy Groscup is also an ordained Methodist minister who has earned a doctorate degree and served as chaplain and as ombudsman at West Virginia University; and
Whereas, Dr. Stacy Groscup currently is a member of the Monongalia County Board of Education and is very involved in his community as an active member of the local rescue squad and providing scuba-diving services and education; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate of West Virginia:
That the Senate hereby congratulates Dr. Stacy Groscup of Morgantown on his induction as the forty-ninth inductee into the World Archery Hall of Fame; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Stacy Groscup for his dedication and commitment to his community as a minister, educator and public servant; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Dr. Stacy Groscup, World Archery Hall of Fame member and distinguished West Virginian.
